Full Clearance at Dungannon Hereford Bull Sale with Average Price of £4410
Nine Hereford bulls achieved full clearance at the Premier Show and Sale in Dungannon Farmers Mart. They averaged £4410 each.
John and William McMordie of Ballygowan sold three bulls for the top prices. Their 23-month-old Solpoll 1 Becker, son of Herberry 1 Humberto, placed second in class 1 and sold for 4900gns to L Heslip of Dungannon.
Solpoll 1 Boris, a 22-month-old son of Humberto, took first in class 1 and the championship. Judge Christopher McCrea selected it. It sold for 4600gns to K Hunter of Magherafelt.
The McMordies' 21-month-old Solpoll 1 Bushmills, son of Fabb 1 Top Prize, recorded the highest terminal index among bulls under two years old. It sold for 4500gns to F McGurk of Cookstown.
River-Dale 1 Bonanza from the McMordie family in Saintfield, a 20-month-old son of Wirruna Katnook, ranked in the top five per cent for muscle and terminal index. It sold for 4500gns to G Cuddy of Dungannon.
Roy and Pat McClenaghan of Hollywood sold a May 2024-born son of Fabb 1 Northern Star. It ranked top five for calving, eye muscle, and terminal index, selling for 4100gns to O Keown of Enniskillen.
Mark and Lawrence Moore of Aughnacloy sold two June 2024-born sons of Cave Hill Max. Annaghbeg Masala placed first in class 2 and took reserve championship. It sold for 4000gns to A Liggett of Clogher. Annaghbeg Mixer sold for 3700gns to J McConville of Rathfriland.
Nathaniel Shaw of Dungannon sold two bulls. Sessiagh 1 Burger King, a June 2024 son of Northern Star, sold for 3800gns to B Henry of Clogher. Sessiagh 1 Bacardi, son of Dendor 1 Kohinoor, sold for 3600gns to E Robinson of Dungannon.
