A total of 886 cattle were presented at Clogher Mart on Saturday, August 22, and a separate entry of summer cattle went under the hammer at Enniskillen Mart on Wednesday, August 20. Both sales recorded a steady and competitive trade, with firm prices across all sections.

At Clogher, the fatstock ring saw 260 lots offered. A beef-bred Shorthorn cow weighing 870kg topped the cow trade at £3,114.60 (358p/kg), while an 820kg Limousin cow reached £3,099.60 (378p/kg). In the fat bull section, a 1,010kg Limousin from a Fivemiletown producer sold for £3,444.10 (341p/kg). Fat steers peaked at £3,083.20 for an 820kg Charolais (376p/kg), and fat heifers were led by a 650kg Limousin at £2,392 (368p/kg).

Store cattle at Clogher attracted particularly keen competition. Heavy steers over 600kg sold to £2,900 for an 815kg Charolais. Forward steers between 520kg and 595kg topped at £2,150 for a 530kg Charolais (406p/kg), with a 520kg Charolais making £2,130 (410p/kg). The best store heifers reached £2,980 for a 690kg Limousin (432p/kg), while forward heifers peaked at £2,540 for a 585kg Limousin (434p/kg). Mediumweight heifers saw a 500kg Charolais sell for £2,260 (452p/kg), and lighter heifers under 400kg hit £1,790 for a 380kg Limousin (471p/kg).

Weanling trade at Clogher was strong. A 435kg Limousin male made £1,970 (453p/kg), and a 315kg Charolais male reached £1,810 (575p/kg). Female weanlings were led by a 420kg Limousin at £2,200 (524p/kg), while a 405kg Charolais female sold for £1,820. Breeding stock saw pedigree Limousin bulls sell to £3,060, dairy cows and heifers to £2,500, and suckler outfits to £3,500. In-calf heifers peaked at £3,420. Dropped Charolais bull calves reached £1,360 and heifer calves £1,280, while reared female lumps sold to £2,200 for a Limousin.

At Enniskillen, beef heifers topped at £2,670 for a 705kg Limousin, and lighter weights peaked at 425p/kg for a 395kg Charolais, earning £1,680. Bullocks traded to 370p/kg and £2,590 per head for heavy cattle, with lighter sorts reaching 519p/kg. Fat cows sold to £3,010 for a 1,040kg Charolais bull from a Killadeas producer.

Weanling steers and bulls at Enniskillen ranged from £1,300 to £1,960 for a 445kg Aberdeen Angus, while heifers ranged from £1,200 to £1,830 for a 445kg Shorthorn. Beef-bred drop calves made up to £780 for a Limousin bull from a Trillick producer. Suckler cows peaked at £3,780 for a Charolais cow with a Charolais heifer at foot.

The sales demonstrated sustained demand for quality cattle in Northern Ireland, with both marts reporting clearance rates that reflected a positive trading environment.
