Livestock sales across Fermanagh recorded robust demand in the second week of June, with all stock offered at Lisnaskea cleared and prices holding firm at Enniskillen and Fivemiletown.

At Enniskillen Mart on Thursday June 11, heavy bullocks peaked at £2,510 for a 775kg Limousin and reached 364 pence per kilo for a 620kg Charolais. Lightweight cattle sold to 557 pence per kilo for a 305kg Charolais at £1,700.

Weanling steers and bulls at the same venue traded up to £1,960 for a 395kg Charolais, while heifers reached £1,760 for a 420kg Charolais.

Forward heifers achieved 370 pence per kilo for a 500kg Charolais at £1,850, with overall heifer prices topping at £2,360.

In the cow section, a 1,040kg Limousin bull made £3,140 and a 800kg Charolais cow sold for £2,220. Suckler cows peaked at £3,300 for a Simmental with a Charolais bull calf at foot, and in-calf heifers reached £2,920.

Dropped calves saw a Charolais bull sell to £1,070, while older January-born calves made up to £1,150.

At Lisnaskea Livestock Sales on Tuesday June 9, weanling males sold to £1,860 for a 415kg Charolais and weanling heifers reached £1,630 for a 335kg Charolais. Fat cows traded at £217 per 100kg for a 600kg Aberdeen Angus.

In Fivemiletown, bullocks sold up to 500 pence per kilo, with one 340kg animal at £1,700, highlighting the intensity of ringside and online competition. The trade demonstrated continuing pressure on supplies to meet buyer requirements.
