Three men from the Derry area have been ordered to stand trial at Derry Crown Court after magistrates accepted there was a case to answer on charges including wounding, drugs supply and burglary.

Gavin Dalzell, aged 29 and from Carlisle Road in Derry, faces a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent between January 10 and 11, 2024. During a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrates Court on March 4, Dalzell submitted no statements and called no witnesses. He was granted bail ahead of his trial scheduled for April 13.

Gary North, 41, from Melrose Terrace in Derry's Waterside, faces multiple drugs charges. These include involvement in supplying class A and class C drugs between January 9 and 31, 2024, importing class A and class C drugs from December 20, 2023, to January 31, 2024, and possessing class B and class C drugs on January 31, 2024. At a hearing in Derry Magistrates Court on Wednesday, North submitted no statements and called no witnesses. He remains on bail for a trial on April 4.

Owen Gallagher, 34, of Fearmoyle Road in Coleraine, faces charges of burgling a premises on Trench Road on May 2, 2020, taking a vehicle with aggravation that caused damage, and stealing a bank card. Gallagher submitted no statements and called no witnesses. He was released on bail for trial on April 13.
