Three people appeared at Derry Magistrates' Court on Monday charged in connection with alleged drug offences.

Colm McGuinness, 35, of Fernabbey Drive, faces five counts including possession of class A drugs with intent to supply, possession of class A and class B drugs, and being concerned in the supply of drugs.

Stephen Gerard Cooke, 37, of Leafair Park, is charged with obstructing police during a drugs search and being concerned in the supply of class B drugs.

Helena Nash, 43, of Clon Dara, faces charges of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, possessing criminal property and allowing drugs to be used on her premises.

Police told the court that a search at an address recovered class A drugs valued at between £4,000 and £8,000, along with deal bags, scales and cash.

Police alleged that McGuinness had been involved in an organised crime group for several years and that Cooke acted as his driver.

McGuinness and Cooke were remanded in custody to appear again on May 28. Nash was granted bail and will also appear on the same date.
