Inspector Douglas stated that the arrests prevented impaired drivers from causing harm on the roads. He highlighted 15 road deaths in Northern Ireland so far this year and urged adherence to the fatal five guidelines: avoid driving after consuming drink or drugs, maintain appropriate speeds, exercise care, wear seat belts, and refrain from mobile phone use while driving. Police encouraged reports of suspected impaired drivers.
