Two Men Charged in Separate Belfast Incidents Involving Drugs Cash and Arson
Police in Belfast charged two men in separate cases on Tuesday. A 51-year-old faces charges of involvement in supplying class B drugs, possessing criminal property, and conspiring to fraudulently import class B drugs. The charges stem from an arrest and seizure of about £100,000 cash.
The man will appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 22nd April. The Public Prosecution Service will review the charges as standard procedure.
In a distinct incident, a 26-year-old man faces charges of arson with intent to endanger life. The charge relates to a fire at an apartment building on Stewartstown Road in west Belfast.
Police received a report of the fire shortly before 4.45pm on Tuesday, 21st April. Firefighters extinguished the blaze.
Residents were evacuated due to poor air quality after the fire. They remain out of their homes. No other injuries occurred.
The 26-year-old was arrested on suspicion of the offence and will appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 22nd April. The Public Prosecution Service will review this charge.
