Ballymoney residents gathered at Castlecroft on Sunday evening for An Hour of Light, an event designed to promote mental health and emotional wellbeing as the clocks went back and evenings darkened. The gathering was organised by BEAM, a local community group focused on building empowerment and awareness to mind.

Attendees brought candles and torches to light the space, creating an atmosphere of warmth and togetherness. The event included bowls of soup, music from local pipers, and arts and crafts activities for all ages.

BEAM organisers Hannah Graham, Clare Doherty, Zara Hutchinson, Katherine Murphy and Lee Kane stated that the aim was to help people connect during a time of year that can be difficult for some. They noted that seeing the area lit up with people chatting and laughing was a reminder of the caring nature of the Ballymoney community.

The organisers expressed gratitude to everyone who attended and helped make the evening meaningful, highlighting how small acts of kindness and connection can have a significant impact.
