Housing Executive tenants in Fintona, County Tyrone, have received new double-glazed windows and modernised bathrooms following a £900,000 investment.

A total of 145 properties were fitted with new double-glazed windows earlier this year, while 69 properties had new bathrooms installed.

Tenant Sylvia Woods, who has lived in her property for four years, said the work has reduced noise from the road and increased heat retention. "Since having the windows replaced, there's less noise from the road and there's more heat inside," she said. "It will make a big difference in winter."

Woods also welcomed a new wet room, which she said makes daily tasks easier. She was able to select paint and tiles for the project.

Jackie O'Neill, Patch Manager at the Housing Executive, said the improvements make homes more attractive, warmer and more comfortable. Tenants will benefit from less heat loss and lower energy bills, she added.

The investment aims to make homes more sustainable and ensure they remain fit for the future.
