£3.84m Investment Brings 19 Social Homes to Fermanagh
Construction is set to begin on 19 new social homes across two sites in County Fermanagh, backed by a £3.84 million investment.
The Rural Housing Association is leading the projects. Ten homes will be built at Scallen Road in Irvinestown, with a further nine at Railway Court in Maguiresbridge.
Funding includes £1.96 million from the Department for Communities, alongside support from the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and additional finance from Danske Bank.
Communities Minister Gordon Lyons said the investment reflects his commitment to ensuring access to warm, safe, and affordable homes. He highlighted the positive impact the new developments would have on both villages.
John McMullan, Vice-Chair of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive Board, said the developments would help meet local housing need and support community growth.
Stephen Fisher of Rural Housing Association described the start of work as an important milestone. He noted that demand for affordable rural housing remains high and that delivering quality homes helps people remain in their communities.
Once completed, the homes are expected to boost the supply of social housing in both areas.
