Fintona pub could become coffee shop under new plans
A planning application has been lodged to convert a former public house in Fintona into a coffee shop.
Vincent McAtee has applied to Fermanagh and Omagh District Council for permission to change the use of the premises at 19-21 Main Street.
Proposals involve minor internal alterations to the ground floor to accommodate a customer seating area, service counter, and food and beverage preparation space. The plans also provide for storage, staff facilities, and accessible toilets.
The building's exterior would remain unchanged under the scheme. It currently forms part of a continuous terrace of mixed commercial and residential uses along Main Street.
A planning statement submitted with the application argues the coffee shop would maintain an active commercial frontage and support local employment.
It would also encourage pedestrian activity in Fintona town centre and make use of an existing building, the document states.
The applicant contends the development is modest and compatible with the established character of the area.
