Three people were taken to hospital after a serious road traffic collision involving three vehicles in the Mountfield area of Omagh on Monday.

Emergency services were called to Barony Road at around 12.35pm. Police, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene.

NIAS dispatched three emergency ambulances, an ambulance officer and the Charity Air Ambulance with a HEMS team on board. The Air Ambulance was deployed as part of the response.

Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, two people were taken by ambulance to Altnagelvin Hospital and one was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

The Spring Road and Killyclogher Road were closed to facilitate the emergency response. Motorists were advised to find alternative routes. The roads have since reopened.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or other footage of the collision to come forward. Information can be provided by calling 101 and quoting reference 699 06/07/26.

The condition of the three people injured has not been released.
