A four-vehicle crash on Dundrum Road in Newcastle, County Down, left two people requiring hospital treatment on Wednesday 8 July.

The collision happened shortly before 9am, with emergency services called to the scene at around 8:40am.

Police and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service responded. The ambulance service dispatched two emergency ambulances.

A spokesperson said that following assessment and initial treatment at the roadside, both patients were taken to Ulster Hospital by ambulance.

The PSNI indicated that the injuries were believed to be minor. Officers remained at the scene to assist and investigate the circumstances.
