Motorists in south Belfast should expect traffic disruptions this weekend due to the Emerge Music Festival.

Police have announced that on Saturday and Sunday, the city-bound lane of Boucher Road between Shane Retail Park and Balmoral Road will be closed from 3pm to 9pm.

Between 9pm and midnight, Boucher Road will be closed between Tates Avenue and Stockman's Lane, and Stockman's Lane will be closed between Kennedy Way roundabout and Lisburn Road.

The M1 off-slips at Kennedy Way and Stockmans Lane will also close from 9pm.

Police remind festival-goers that stopping, parking, or walking on motorway hard shoulders is illegal, as they are for emergency use only.

Attendees are advised to plan their routes in advance and leave extra time for travel.
