Crimestoppers Offers £3,500 Reward Over Spate of Rural Thefts in Tyrone
A reward of up to £3,500 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of individuals behind a series of rural thefts in County Tyrone.
The independent charity Crimestoppers is funding the reward, which aims to encourage anonymous tip-offs about the theft of agricultural equipment, tools, quad bikes and other valuable items from farms and rural properties in the Omagh area and surrounding districts.
Inspector Brian St Ledger said the crimes were having a significant impact on the livelihoods of rural workers and businesses. He explained that the reward was designed to motivate those with knowledge of the thefts to share it confidentially, which could help police identify the perpetrators.
The reward is available only for information passed directly to Crimestoppers, and the charity operates separately from the PSNI. Inspector St Ledger stressed that anyone contacting the organisation would remain completely anonymous, with their details never shared with police.
The scheme will run until 26 September.
Anyone with information can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or submit details anonymously through the charity’s website.
