PSNI Gains £15,865 Forfeiture After Strabane Cash Seizure
A Londonderry Magistrates Court hearing this week approved a £15,865.56 forfeiture to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) from cash seized in Strabane.
Officers searched a property in Strabane on December 30, 2024, and took possession of the cash.
The Derry City & Strabane District Support Team conducted the initial investigation after the seizure.
PSNI Economic Crime Unit officers handled the forfeiture application.
Derry City & Strabane District Support Team Inspector Cathal Pearce stated that the forfeiture shows police commitment to tackling suspected criminal activity and that crime does not pay.
Inspector Pearce added that police will continue to target criminals to take their cash and redirect it to better uses.
He urged the public to report information on individuals living from or involved in crime-funded lifestyles so police can investigate.
