Police have warned of likely traffic disruption across north Belfast on Friday evening, 19 June, due to a scheduled parade and two accompanying feeder processions.

The main parade is expected to start from Crumlin Road at approximately 7.30pm. It will move along Carlisle Circus, Clifton Street, Donegall Street, Royal Avenue and North Street before continuing via Peters Hill, Shankill Road, Woodvale Road, Woodvale Parade, Twaddell Avenue and Ballygomartin Road. The route then covers Enfield Street, Cambrai Street, Crumlin Road, Albertville Drive, Rosewood Street, Century Street, Oldpark Road, Manor Street, Alloa Street and Cliftonpark Avenue, dispersing back on Crumlin Road by around 9.30pm.

Two feeder parades will set off earlier, both from Alexandra Park Avenue at 6.30pm. The first will travel along North Queen Street, Brougham Street, York Street, Donegall Street, Clifton Street, Carlisle Circus, Crumlin Road and Hopewell Avenue. At about 8.15pm it will break away from the main parade at the junction of Shankill Road and Agnes Street, returning along Crumlin Road, Carlisle Circus, Clifton Street, Donegall Street, York Street and York Road before dispersing. The second feeder parade will follow North Queen Street, Brougham Street, York Street, Donegall Street, Clifton Street and Carlisle Circus to finish at Denmark Street. It too will separate from the main procession around 8.15pm at Shankill Road and Agnes Street, then head back via Crumlin Road, Carlisle Circus, Clifton Street, Donegall Street, York Street and York Road to disperse at Alexandra Park Avenue.

A PSNI spokesperson said motorists should plan for delays and leave extra time for their journeys while the parades are in progress.
