The remaining bank holidays for 2026 have been confirmed by the Government, with Northern Ireland set to observe two unique dates alongside UK-wide holidays.

The next bank holiday in the region falls on Monday 13 July, marking the Battle of the Boyne. This is a substitute day for the original anniversary, which falls on a Sunday this year.

Northern Ireland will also share the late summer bank holiday with England and Wales on Monday 31 August.

Christmas Day on Friday 25 December is a bank holiday across the whole of the UK. Boxing Day falls on a Saturday this year, so a substitute bank holiday has been set for Monday 28 December.

Scotland observes a summer bank holiday on 3 August and a St Andrew’s Day holiday on 30 November, which do not apply in Northern Ireland.
