A free job fair with more than 70 exhibitors will take place at St George’s Market in Belfast on Wednesday 24 June.

The event, organised by Belfast City Council and the Belfast Labour Market Partnership, runs from 11am to 2pm. An optional quiet period with reduced noise and smaller crowds will operate from 10.30am.

Employers from sectors including construction, transport, security, health and social care, enterprise, hospitality and professional and business services will be in attendance. Many are actively recruiting for current vacancies.

The council’s Employment Academies will provide information on tailored training programmes designed to help people gain qualifications, build confidence and move into employment. These programmes are part of Labour Market Partnerships funded by the Department for Communities, which create targeted employment action plans for council areas.

Support organisations will offer practical advice on CV preparation, job applications, interview techniques and pathways into training or starting a business.

Councillor Joe Duffy, chair of the council’s City Growth and Regeneration Committee, stated that the fair would connect key employers and training providers with individuals seeking new work, new skills or a different career direction.

No prior registration is required. Further information is available on the council website.
