Police in County Tyrone have arrested a man following a serious road collision that left a woman in hospital. The incident occurred on the Gillygooley Road near Omagh on Monday, 8 June.

A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving. He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A woman in her sixties was taken to hospital for treatment and remains there receiving care for her injuries. Her condition has not been disclosed.

The Gillygooley Road was closed while emergency services attended the scene. It reopened later that evening at around 8pm.

Officers have asked anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to come forward. The investigation is ongoing.
