PSNI releases images of five men sought over 2024 Belfast disorder
The Police Service of Northern Ireland has issued photographs of five men they wish to speak to as part of an ongoing investigation into disorder in Belfast nearly two years ago.
The appeal, made on 4 June 2026, relates to violence that erupted on 3 August 2024 after an anti-immigration protest in the city. That protest itself followed a knife attack in Southport, England.
During the disorder, several businesses owned by immigrants were targeted and damaged.
In the days after the rioting, a car was hijacked and driven into an estate agent’s premises on the Shankill Road. This occurred after false claims circulated that the agency was renting homes to asylum seekers.
A PSNI spokesperson said the five men are being asked to come forward, and police are appealing to anyone who can assist in identifying them.
