1910 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost linked to Titanic shipbuilder visits Belfast
A 1910 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost previously owned by Harland & Wolff chairman Lord Pirrie visited the Titanic Slipways in Belfast recently.
This is the first time the vehicle has been brought to the site.
The car was commissioned in 1909 during early Titanic construction and delivered to Pirrie's coachbuilder in London in May 1910.
It served as an ambulance and breakdown truck after passing to Pirrie's brother-in-law Alexander Montgomery Carlisle following Pirrie's death in 1924.
The car was restored over four years to recreate its original ceremonial double phaeton bodywork.
Members of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club visited Titanic Belfast and viewed Pirrie's engraved pocket watch along with a pop-up exhibition about his life on the SS Nomadic.
They stayed at Titanic Hotel Belfast, which contains Pirrie's office.
Owner Albert White brought the car from England as part of a weekend gathering of classic Rolls-Royce and Bentley vehicles from across Ireland.
Titanic Belfast CEO Judith Owens said the visit offered a glimpse into Pirrie's world and the legacy of the Titanic era.
