Harbourview Hotel in Carnlough Receives Four-Star Rating from Tourism NI
The Harbourview Hotel in Carnlough, County Antrim, has received a four-star grading from Tourism Northern Ireland's Quality Grading Scheme. The hotel changed ownership in 2024 and completed a major refurbishment. Inspectors assessed all 35 bedrooms as very smart and professionally finished.
The assessment praised customer service, food offerings, and staff warmth. The whiskey room drew specific commendation as a unique addition for guests and visitors. The property was previously known as the Londonderry Arms Hotel.
David Roberts, Director of Strategic Development at Tourism NI, stated that the grading recognises investment in the property and staff dedication. He noted the hotel's history, location, and whiskey theme enhance the Antrim Coast accommodation options.
Paul Truscott, General Manager of the Harbourview Hotel, called the rating a significant achievement for the historic building. He highlighted efforts to preserve character while introducing innovative hospitality experiences tied to whiskey heritage.
Tourism NI's Quality Grading Scheme evaluates accommodation, service, and cleanliness. It applies to hotels, guest houses, bed and breakfasts, self-catering units, hostels, and guest accommodation, with ratings up to five stars.
