The Police Service of Northern Ireland will manage traffic around the Eikon Exhibition Centre during the Balmoral Show, scheduled from Wednesday 13 May to Saturday 16 May 2026. Chief Superintendent Kelly Moore stated that visitor safety ranks as a top priority for the PSNI.

Thousands of visitors, including families, farmers and businesses from areas like Ballymena, will attend the four-day event focused on farming, food and rural activities. Officers will assist with traffic flow to the venue near Lisburn, where congestion typically builds during morning arrivals and afternoon departures, especially on opening days.

Chief Superintendent Moore advised motorists to anticipate longer journey times, drive patiently, park only in designated areas and follow directions from officers and marshals. The PSNI will maintain a presence in the Supporting Safer Communities marquee, where crime prevention officers, neighbourhood policing teams, roads education unit staff and recruitment specialists will offer guidance on rural issues including crime prevention, road safety and community policing.

Attendees interested in PSNI careers can discuss opportunities with recruitment staff. Chief Superintendent Moore noted that the show provides a key chance for direct engagement with rural communities across Northern Ireland. Police dogs and handlers may also appear at the marquee.

Drones remain banned on site for visitors and traders throughout the event. Police recommend checking www.psni.police.uk/ruralcrime for further rural crime prevention information.
