The Utility Regulator has launched a consultation on changes to NIE Networks' distribution and transmission licences. The proposals aim to add allowances that strengthen network resilience against severe weather.

NIE Networks would gain permission to treat certain costs from severe weather as pass-through expenses recoverable from customers. The changes follow the company's review of network performance during Storm Éowyn.

Additional minor licence modifications are under consideration at the same time. Details on the consultation process and response methods are available on the regulator's website.

Documents related to the proposals can be provided in large print, Braille, audio cassette, or relevant minority languages upon request.
