The Utility Regulator has endorsed a grade of 5.00 for NIE Networks' Forward Work Plan for 2026/2027. NIE Networks published the plan in October 2025.

An Evaluative Performance Framework governs NIE Networks' performance. The framework formed part of the RP7 price control. An independent panel of experts assesses the company's work under the framework.

The framework seeks to encourage NIE Networks to pursue new opportunities and advance initiatives that benefit Northern Ireland customers. It also promotes adaptation to changes in the energy sector.

The panel evaluated the Forward Work Plan with all available evidence. The panel submitted its Recommendation Report to the Utility Regulator in January 2026.

The Utility Regulator published the panel's report. The regulator reviewed the recommendations and confirmed agreement with the proposed grade of 5.00.

The Utility Regulator notified NIE Networks of the decision in writing. The regulator also published the decision document.
