53-Year-Old Charged After £1.4m Cocaine Seizure in Warrenpoint
Police from the PSNI Organised Crime Branch seized suspected cocaine valued at over £1.4 million from a house in Mourne Drive, Warrenpoint, Co Down. The search took place on April 16. Officers recovered the Class A drug along with cash and electronic items.
David Kelly, 53, from Mourne Drive, appeared at Newry Magistrates Court on April 17. He faces charges including possession of cocaine with intent to supply on April 16, being concerned in the supply of cocaine on October 27 last year, possession of cannabis, and possession of criminal property on April 16.

District Judge Paul Copeland found prima facie evidence connecting Kelly to the charges. He remanded Kelly in custody to April 29 and granted legal aid. Kelly can apply for bail at the Magistrates Court or appeal to the High Court if refused.
The seizure stems from ongoing PSNI investigations into controlled drug supply in Co Down.
