A drive-through coffee business in Shantallow plans to expand its site on Racecourse Road. Owners Christopher and Maria will replace an existing car wash with a larger container in a couple of weeks. The business opened six months after acquiring its initial container in February.

Christopher stated he decided to start the operation after seeing a similar setup near Belfast, noting no such service existed locally. He emphasized the convenience of the window service for customers. The couple attributed rapid growth to local support, including visitors from Belfast.

The expansion aims to address queues that block the road. A bigger container will allow more staff to speed up service. It will also add a seating area.

Current offerings include acai bowls, smoothies, protein smoothies and tray bakes. Plans call for adding milkshakes and possibly hot food.

The business sources coffee beans from Opal Roast and full-fat milk from The Milk Bar in Donegal. Christopher noted they avoid cheaper options to maintain coffee taste. Maria stressed supporting local businesses.

Cuppa Joes operates daily from 7am to 7pm, except Sundays from 9am to 7pm.
