Met Office Forecasts Heavy Rain and Wind for Easter Bank Holiday in Northern Ireland
The Met Office forecasts changeable weather conditions in Northern Ireland this week, turning unsettled for the Easter bank holiday weekend. Low pressure will dominate from Good Friday through Easter Monday, bringing spells of rain, some heavy, along with sunny spells and showers.
Tuesday features sunny spells and showers, with temperatures around 16C as milder air arrives. Wednesday stays mainly cloudy, with rain bands from northern Scotland moving south and east before easing and slightly cooler temperatures.
Thursday sees brighter conditions after a possible patchy frost in the north, but cloud and rain arrive later in the north and west with stronger winds. Deputy Chief Meteorologist Steven Keates stated that wet and windy conditions will persist into the holiday, especially in exposed north-western areas, with driest weather in the southeast UK.
The RAC expects nearly 21 million leisure car journeys UK-wide from Thursday to Easter Monday, the busiest Easter traffic in four years based on a survey of 2,219 adults conducted March 20-23.
