The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for wind across Northern Ireland from 2pm on Saturday April 4 until 2pm on Sunday. Storm Dave will bring gusts of 50-60mph widely and 60-70mph in exposed areas.

Forecasters state flying debris poses risks of injuries and danger to life. Strong winds may damage property and disrupt travel.

The warnings also apply to mainland Scotland, northern England, and north Wales. A separate yellow snow warning targets northwest Scotland.

Tom Crabtree, Met Office deputy chief forecaster, noted Storm Dave will deepen rapidly on Saturday. Winds will strengthen by afternoon across affected regions.

George Fiddes from Transport Scotland advised planning ahead for Easter travel due to high winds, rain, and snow in some areas.

Police Scotland's Chief Superintendent Scott McCarren urged HGV and bus drivers to exercise extreme caution. He recommended checking if journeys are necessary or can be delayed.
