Martin McCarney Scheduled for Enniskillen Court on Theft, Fraud, and Murder Charges
Martin McCarney, 45, faces 16 charges of theft and fraud by false representation. The alleged offences occurred between July and August 2024. He is set to appear at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on March 30.
The charges include stealing a Santander Bank card from a woman and using it for purchases. Fourteen additional counts involve fraud by false representation. McCarney pleaded not guilty to all charges.
That court date matches his scheduled video-link appearance on a murder charge. The murder charge relates to the death of Ellie Flanagan in Enniskillen on March 7. He also faces charges of possessing three knives with intent to commit murder.
At his first hearing on March 7, McCarney was remanded in custody. He confirmed he understood the charges but made no other comment. No bail application occurred.
His defence addressed District Judge Alana McSorley. They conveyed McCarney's request to express sorrow for the pain caused to Flanagan's family and the Enniskillen community.
