A man charged with the murder of Ellie Flanagan in Enniskillen has appeared before magistrates as investigators await key evidence. Martin McCarney, 45, is accused of killing the 23-year-old on 7 March and of possessing three knives with intent to commit an offence.

McCarney appeared via videolink from custody at Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court. An investigating officer told the court that police are expecting to receive CCTV footage and a coroner’s report. No applications for bail were reported.

The case was adjourned and McCarney is due back in court on 6 July for a further update.
