A youth programme addressing human trafficking, modern-day slavery, and online exploitation featured at Ballykeel Youth Centre in Ballymena will appear on BBC's Comic Relief broadcast.

The BBC filmed sessions of the 'Cracking the Case of Injustice' initiative earlier this month at the centre. The programme targets children aged nine to 11 and uses a spy and detective theme.

Invisible Traffick ran the six-week Junior Education Programme at the centre late last year. Around 10 young people attended sessions on Monday evenings.

Sessions covered online exploitation, stranger danger, child criminal exploitation, and children's rights. Participants learned to identify trusted adults and gained confidence to report concerns.

The broadcast includes footage of a programme session and pre-recorded interviews with young people who shared their experiences and lessons learned.

Arlene Kee, Assistant Director of Youth Services in the Education Authority, stated that the centre's work is recognised on a national stage. She noted the programme empowers young people with knowledge and confidence for safety.
