A series of free beginner Spanish classes will be held at Ormeau Road Library in Belfast this September, offered by Libraries NI in partnership with The Open University. The classes are open to complete beginners and will run on Mondays 7, 14 and 21 September from 10:30am to 12:30pm.

The sessions will be led by Ximena Arias-Manzano, a lecturer in Spanish at The Open University in Belfast. Participants will learn practical Spanish for holidays, including greetings, asking for information, ordering food and requesting the bill. The classes will also cover Spanish food and culture.

Helen Poston, service development manager at Libraries NI, said the classes give beginners a chance to learn useful Spanish in a friendly environment. She noted that previous classes were popular.
