The Probation Board for Northern Ireland has endorsed a new BBC One series titled 'Carl Frampton: On Probation'. The programme begins airing on Monday 18 May at 10:40pm and will also appear on BBC iPlayer.

Produced by DoubleBand Films, the series provides access to probation operations in Northern Ireland. It covers staff supervision of individuals under community sentences, risk management, and public protection.

The content addresses work with people facing addictions, mental health issues, and trauma. Staff build relationships to encourage change and address crime causes to reduce reoffending.

Glenn Houston, Board Chair, stated that the series reveals the reality of probation work in tough conditions. He noted staff support individuals to change while holding them accountable if they do not.

Houston added that the programmes highlight justice system efforts and staff challenges. He expressed pride in participating employees.

Amanda Stewart, Chief Executive, said the board collaborated with producers over years to clarify probation roles, an under-known justice area. She committed to transparency by allowing public view of operations and decisions.

Stewart emphasised inclusion of victims' perspectives, including a survivor's account in episode 6 about crime effects on her family. She praised staff dedication to safer communities.
