Claudy man's family seeks answers after fatal London balcony fall
Joshua Robbins, a 23-year-old man from Claudy in County Londonderry, died on January 29 after falling from a five-storey balcony at Holland and Thurston Dwellings in Holborn, London.
His mother, Fiona Garrett, paid tribute to her son ahead of his cremation, describing him as her 'forever child' with a 'kindness, gentle soul, and quiet goodness'. She stated that 23 years was 'never enough'.
The family believes the balcony railing collapsed, leading to his death, and is campaigning for answers. Police are conducting a formal investigation into the circumstances.
A fundraising page has raised nearly £3,000 to cover costs for legal representation and independent expert input to ensure the death is fully examined.
The page notes that Joshua was 'deeply loved' and had plans for the future, and that his death has irrevocably changed the family's lives.
Pippa Fleetwood-Read, Chief Executive of Islington & Shoreditch Housing Association (ISHA), the property's landlord, expressed condolences and confirmed full cooperation with the police investigation.
