Athletes from Ballymoney Rapids Special Olympics Swimming Club, Causeway Coast and Glens Bowling Club, and Coleraine Cougars Special Olympics Basketball attended a reception at Cloonavin.

The event was held to recognise the athletes, their coaches, and their families for their commitment and achievements.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Dawn Huggins, said it was an honour to meet the athletes and hear about their experiences representing Team Ulster at the Games in Dublin.

She described participation in the event as a fantastic achievement and praised the dedication and hard work of both athletes and coaches in preparation.

Huggins called the athletes wonderful ambassadors for Causeway Coast and Glens and expressed hope that they take pride in their achievements.

The reception was also attended by councillors Tanya Elder and Jonathan McAuley.
