A family celebration will be held in Coleraine town centre on Saturday 4 July to mark Coleraine FC’s Irish Cup victory under manager Ruaidhri Higgins.

The event was proposed through a Notice of Motion by Alderman Mark Fielding and seconded by Councillor Tanya Elder. It is being organised by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council in partnership with Coleraine Connect, formerly Coleraine BID.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Dawn Huggins, stated that the Irish Cup win was a proud moment for the entire borough. She thanked the councillors who brought forward the motion and described the event as an opportunity for supporters and the wider community to come together.

Coleraine Connect Chairman Johnny Fielding explained that the occasion would allow the community to recognise both the team’s success and the backing from supporters throughout the season. He pointed to a strong sense of togetherness that emerged before the final, with businesses and residents displaying visible support.

Coleraine FC Chief Executive Officer Dale Pryde-MacDonald expressed gratitude to the council and Coleraine Connect for making the event possible. He noted that the cup success depended on remarkable community backing and said the celebration is a humbling recognition of that collective effort. He also voiced hope that it would set a positive tone for the 2026/27 season.

Organisers have said further details about the day’s timetable will be announced soon and are encouraging residents and supporters to attend.
