A community celebration took place in Coleraine to honour the local football club's Irish Cup victory. The event was organised by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council in partnership with Coleraine Connect.

The gathering included a question-and-answer session with club manager Ruaidhri Higgins and club captain Lyndon Kane. Former players also attended, giving supporters an opportunity to recognise the club's history alongside the recent success. Children were entertained with a football-themed trail hunt, a keepy-uppy challenge and football inflatables. Attendees were able to meet the current team and pose for photographs with the Irish Cup.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Dawn Huggins, addressed the crowd. She stated that the Irish Cup triumph was a proud moment not only for the football club but for the entire borough, and the council was proud of the team's accomplishment.

Jonny Fielding, chairman of Coleraine Connect, also spoke. He recalled witnessing the cup win at Windsor Park and said that helping to bring the celebratory event to the town was equally meaningful. He described how the day demonstrated football's capacity to unite the community, noting the presence of families, young supporters, local businesses and lifelong fans.

The event followed a notice of motion at the council, proposed by Alderman Mark Fielding and seconded by Councillor Tanya Elder, which called for formal recognition of the team's achievement.
