A 30-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop for police following a late-night pursuit across parts of Banbridge, Lurgan and Portadown.

Police in Lurgan said the charges relate to an incident in the early hours of Saturday, July 25, when a group of motorcyclists was travelling at dangerous speeds. Officers pursued the riders through several locations, including the Plantation Road area of Lurgan and into the Corcrain Drive and Westland Road area of Portadown.

The man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving while disqualified, having no insurance, and other road traffic offences. He now faces formal charges and is expected to appear before Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 26. All charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service as a matter of routine.

Investigating officers continue to appeal for dash-cam, CCTV, or other digital footage of the motorcyclists in the Banbridge area and of the police pursuit in Lurgan and Portadown.
