A 32-year-old man has been charged in connection with a stabbing in Belfast city centre and is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday 27 July.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening, 25 July, at approximately 8.30pm in the Bank Square area. Police received a report that a man in his 30s had sustained injuries consistent with stab wounds to his torso and leg following an altercation with a number of other people.

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious but not life-threatening. A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and has since been charged with that offence, along with possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and affray.
