Pody McCrory stopped his opponent in the second round of a boxing contest at Belfast's Waterfront Hall on Friday night, a result he says marks the end of his professional career.

The former champion landed a rapid series of right hands, forcing the referee to halt the bout. McCrory had previously indicated he wished to retire on his own terms in his home city.

He acknowledged that a potential fight against either Jay Quiggly or Luke Keeler on the undercard of Katie Taylor's upcoming bout at Croke Park in Dublin could draw him back, but maintained that he considers his career finished.

McCrory will remain involved in boxing through his company Hammer Boxing, managing a stable of fighters. Alongside Jamie Conlan of Conlan Sports, he plans to continue promoting events in Belfast and beyond.

On the same card, Conor Quinn claimed the Commonwealth International Super-Featherweight title with a technical knockout of Jake Dodd in the final round. Teo Alin, from Cookstown, won the Commonwealth International Silver Super-Featherweight title with an eight-round decision over Robert Caswell, improving his record to 8-0. Oisin Dunlop of Belfast earned a fourth-round stoppage against Zayn Khan to move to 3-0.

Paddy Gallagher's scheduled eight-rounder against Graham McCormack of Limerick ended in a draw. The original 78-75 decision for McCormack was reversed due to a scoring anomaly, and a rematch has been proposed for September 5 on the Taylor undercard at Croke Park.

Jamie Graham, a southpaw from Clonard, made a successful professional debut with a four-round win over Jose Exequiel Sanchez of Argentina. Cathal Jennings of Newry did not compete on the night despite completing a training camp.
