Police Take E-Scramblers Off Lurgan Roads After Public Complaints
Police in Lurgan have seized two e-scrambler bikes following a series of complaints about dangerous and anti-social driving.
The PSNI confirmed that both riders were identified and would face multiple charges. The bikes were removed from the road in an operation that officers said would make communities safer.
A police spokesperson said the force remains committed to tackling the misuse of e-scramblers, which has caused concern for residents and risk to the public. Officers thanked local people for reporting incidents, noting that community information helps identify offenders.
Sinn Féin MLA John O’Dowd welcomed the police response. He said residents have been raising fears for some time about irresponsibly ridden bikes endangering pedestrians and road users. O’Dowd argued that enforcement is essential to send a clear message that such behaviour will not be tolerated.
He urged anyone with information about the misuse of e-scramblers, scramblers, or other vehicles to continue sharing it with the PSNI. He added that everyone has the right to feel safe in their own community and pledged to support further action on the issue.
