Car-free apartment scheme of 253 homes proposed near Belfast's Grand Central Station
A planning application has been lodged to construct 253 apartments on the site of the City Link business park off the Grosvenor Road, close to Grand Central Station.
The proposal would see the apartments built across four blocks, with the tallest reaching 16 storeys.
One block containing 51 homes would be designated as affordable housing, with the Choice housing association indicated as the intended operator. The remaining 202 apartments would be for private rent.
The development is planned as entirely car-free, with no new parking spaces provided. The application states that the location is well served by sustainable transport modes and that the city centre setting supports a vehicle-free approach.
The application also describes the current business park layout as a disruption to the surrounding urban area, stating the proposal aims to address this.
