A 43-year-old Ballymena man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with assaulting a woman and stealing her mobile phone.

William Dunlop, of no fixed abode in Ballymena, appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday 11 June via video link from prison.

The charges relate to alleged offences on 14 May this year. No details about the background of the charges were disclosed in court.

Dunlop was further remanded in custody and the case was adjourned to Thursday 9 July for a further hearing.
