A 28-year-old Ballymena man has been sent to Antrim Crown Court accused of multiple assaults and possession of a golf club as an offensive weapon.

Adam Shirley, whose address was given as Larne Road, faces charges including assaulting a female and causing criminal damage to a car. The alleged offences are said to have taken place on January 18 last year.

Full details of the alleged incident were not outlined during the hearing at Ballymena Magistrates' Court on Thursday, August 13.

Shirley was granted continuing bail of £500. He is due to appear at Antrim Crown Court for arraignment on September 18.
