Translink bus and train services are operating normally on Friday, following a temporary halt the previous evening.

On Thursday, Metro, Glider, and Ulsterbus departures from Belfast were suspended after 5:30pm, and the last rail services left Grand Central Station before 8:15pm. The company cited a need to ensure safety during disorder in the city.

A spokesperson said services are running with only minimal changes and that the intention is to maintain scheduled operations, including late-night and special event travel. The safety of staff and passengers remains the top priority, and the situation is being monitored closely with stakeholders.

Planned additional transport for the Belsonic music festival in South Belfast on Friday and Saturday will go ahead. The festival is taking place at Ormeau Park.

Translink advised passengers to stay informed through its website, social media channels, and Journey Planner app.
