Bangor Golfer, 89, Achieves First Hole-in-One in Edinburgh
An 89-year-old golfer from Bangor has recorded his first hole-in-one during a family round in Edinburgh.
Raymond Pitt was playing at Craigmillar Park Golf Club with his nephew Edwin Backler and great-nephews Tom and Alex Backler when he stepped up to the 11th tee.
Using a 7-wood, Pitt struck a shot that cleared a bunker, landed on the green, and rolled into the hole. His relatives, who were watching from behind, erupted in celebration while Pitt, initially unaware, was picking up his tee.
The moment was also witnessed from the clubhouse, and staff later presented Pitt with a commemorative gift and drinks to mark the occasion.
