Eats & Beats Festival Returns to Newcastle This September
The Eats & Beats Festival will return to Donard Park in Newcastle, County Down, on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September.
Now in its fifth year, the festival will feature over 24 musical acts across two live stages. The Homegrown Stage will host Saturday performances from D:Ream, Eric Bell and When Ireland Rocked, Anna's Number and emerging local artists, while Sunday's line-up includes Matt Benson, The Outcasts, Tribal Ting and Vera. The World Stage will present The Skallions, Wilson Magwere, Uplifted Gospel Choir and The Backbone Blues Band on Saturday, followed by Baile na Salsa, Havana Roots, Indigo Soul Band and Newcastle Junior Glees on Sunday.
More than 24 food vendors and 18 regional producers will offer local food and drink. Chef Paul Cunningham will host live cookery demonstrations, joined on Saturday by television chef Jenny Bristow, and on Sunday by Suzie Lee and Paula McIntyre.
Family attractions include the Curious Minds Experience and a dedicated Kids Zone.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson Councillor Glyn Hanna said the festival showcases local food, music and hospitality, and helps draw visitors to the Mourne Gullion Strangford region to explore its landscapes and support local businesses.
The council has introduced a small admission fee this year to support the festival's growth and visitor experience. Daily tickets cost £5, with children aged four and under admitted free; family ticket options are also available. Tickets can be purchased via the council's box office website.
