Police Urge Drivers to Slow Down During Week-Long Speed Operation
Police are carrying out targeted speed enforcement across Northern Ireland this week. The operation, part of the ongoing road safety initiative Operation Lifesaver, focuses on detecting and deterring excessive speed.
Officers are appealing directly to motorists to slow down, warning that speeding drastically cuts reaction times and can mean the difference between life and death. The message stresses that every driver has a responsibility to ensure they get home safely.
The force said that actions behind the wheel affect all road users, and urged the public never to assume that a serious collision could not happen to them.
